Hailey and Mya Montgomery, Burlingame 4-H Club, love the memories they make through 4-H. It has become a highlight for their summer, with their projects being such a passion year round. They are learning responsibility and dedication through 4-H. Horses and beef top off the list but they are excited to try new things each year.
Hailey is entering her eighth year in 4-H. Horses, beef, poultry and foods are a few of her projects but she is also taking leadership, photography, and shooting sports-hunting skills. Her favorite this year is the beef project, earning reserve champion market animal at the Overbrook fair in August.
Hailey’s heifer Malibu has been her pride and joy and watching her learning how to care for, groom and show Malibu has been exciting, making mom and dad very proud. Hailey also earned second place at both fairs in intermediate beef showmanship.

Mya is in her fourth year of 4-H and is most excited about the horse project. Mya’s confidence in riding has grown immensely this past summer and we are excited to watch her continue to improve on her horses, Roxy and Hondo. She loves to ride and have fun and 4-H gives her this opportunity.
4-H has also given both girls new friendships and experiences with each fair and event. They look forward to learning and growing in their projects and are very excited for the next year in 4-H!
