SCRANTON, Kan. – Sherri Lucile Dean, 58, passed away Monday, Oct. 14, 2024, at her home near Scranton, Kan. She was born Jan. 20, 1966, in Minneapolis, Minn., the daughter of Clarence and Esther (Rowe) Hollar.
Sherri had lived in Wamego, Kan., for many years before moving to rural Scranton 10 years ago. Sherri had worked as a para-educator for USD 320 Wamego and USD 329 Alma-Wabaunsee.
On May 11, 1990, Sherri was united in marriage to Dale Dean, in Topeka, Kan.
Sherri was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Esther.
Sherri is survived by her husband, Dale, of 34 years; four sons, Christopher (Jenene) Dean, of Fair Grove, Mo., Ricky (Amber) Barngrover, Manhattan, Kan., Brian (Dana) Barngrover, Nacogdoches, Texas, and Kevin (Alisha) Dean, Alma, Kan.; two brothers, Rex Hollar, Carbondale, Kan., and Gary Hollar, Scranton; her two sisters in life, Tanji Cassett and Lisa Hartley, both of Wamego; and eight grandchildren, Elijah, Chloe, Ashley, Gavin, Brayden, Elizabeth, Jacob and Savannah.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at the Carbondale Community UCC. Burial will be in the Carbondale Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday, at Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon.
