A few weeks ago, an Osage City hometown young man made the community where he grew up, as well as the state of Kansas, very proud of him one more time. The evening of Oct. 30, 2024, the Los Angeles Dodgers were crowned the 2024 World Series Championship, which Blake Treinen played a large part in making happen. Blake earned the rights of the night’s winning pitcher for the Dodgers as he picked up two wins in the World Series to go 2-0 against the Yankees.
This is Blake’s second World Series Championship in his baseball career, first in 2020 and now 2024.
Blake attended Osage City High School and played baseball throughout his high school years. Upon graduating from Osage City High School, he played college baseball at Baker University and South Dakota State University. His continuing career has taken him to play with the Washington Nationals, 2014-2017, Oakland Athletics, 2017-2019, the Los Angeles Dodgers, 2020 to the present, and now a free agent.
Keeping strong with his Christian faith, he has worked through his ups and downs. After graduating from high school in 2006, he went to Baker University, Baldwin City, Kan., to play, and then walked on at South Dakota, where he would be drafted. In high school, he threw in the low 70s and now throws 97-99 mph. In 2018, Blake was an MLB All-Star.
Through his perseverance, determination, hard work, and a lot of prayers, Blake is a devoted and inspirational individual and is such a motivation to his team and everyone around him.
Congratulations, Blake, on a job well done and keep with your career as long as you want! At that point in time, consider writing a book on your trials, tribulations accomplishments and success, and incorporate some of your talented artwork within the book.
Thank you,
Jeanette Swarts
