WAVERLY, Kan. – Gary Gene White, 81, passed away Monday, Jan. 13, 2025, at St. Francis Hospital, Topeka, Kan. He was born Feb. 25, 1943, in Worthington, Minn., the son of Ward and Phyllis (Holm) White.
Gary grew up in Worthington, and had lived in Waverly, Kan., for more than 50 years.
Gary served in the United States Navy from 1963 to 1966 as a E-4. He worked at IBP in Emporia for 20 years, and then became self-employed. He was an avid fisherman and Kansas City Chiefs fan.
On Aug. 3, 1968, Gary was united in marriage to Barbara Leonard, in Kansas City. To this union a daughter was born, Kari.
Gary was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, Jan. 30, 2016; and his parents, Ward and Phyllis.
Gary is survived by his daughter, Kari Mesik and husband, Scott, of Ottawa, Kan.; brother, Randy White and wife, Eunice, of Crook, S.D.; and nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
