The Osage City Public Library will host the author of a historical novel that is set in Blue Valley, Kan., with area residents locked in a fight to save their homes from flooding.
Eric T. Reynolds will present his historical fantasy, The Lost Town of Garrison, during the author’s visit to the library at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 23, 2025.
Garrison, Kan., was one of 10 towns in Blue Valley to be flooded to build a reservoir. In Reynolds’ historical novel, the residents of the valley fight the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the 1930s to 1950s to save their homes. The landowners enlist unusual help from Professor Katie Robbins, who is pulled back in time from the present to the 1937 town of Garrison. Opposing sides to damming the river valley use an unusual time travel device to gain advantage over the other side.
During the author’s visit to Osage City, he will speak more about his book and also have copies available for purchase.
