LYNDON, Kan. – Melissa Lynn (Thomas) Medlen, 47, passed away unexpectedly Friday, March 28, 2025, at her home in Lyndon, Kan. She was born Aug. 17, 1977, in Greensburg, Penn., the daughter of Jamie Landis and Ellwood Thomas Jr.
Melissa had grown up in Pennsylvania, had lived near Cody, Wyo., and had just lived in Lyndon for the last year.
Melissa worked as a benefits manager for the U.S. Postal Service, and had recently started working for military veterans benefits.
Melissa was preceded in death by her father, Ellwood.
Melissa is survived by her husband, Ben, of the home; mother, Jamie Keener, and stepfather, Kurt Keener; brother, Tim (Kari) Thomas; niece, Toni (Tim) Thomas; and two great nieces and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Monday, April 7, at Feltner Funeral Chapel, 818 Topeka Ave., Lyndon, Kan. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until service time. Cremation will follow services.
