LYNDON, Kan. – David Gene Burkdoll, 67, passed away Friday, April 11, 2025, at Midland Hospice House, Topeka, Kan. He was born March 25, 1958, in Emporia, Kan., the son of Dean Lee and Patricia (Rose) Burkdoll.
Dave grew up and lived the majority of his life in the Melvern and Lyndon, Kan., communities. He graduated from Melvern High School in 1976.
Dave worked as a heavy equipment operator for Rylie Equipment and Contracting Company for more than 40 years. He was also a farmer, cattle rancher, and spent many hours in the family fur shed.
On Sept. 1, 1978, Dave was united in marriage to Peggy Mahar, in Waverly, Kan. To this union, three sons were born, Jeff, Aaron and Dan.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Dean Lee and Pat; and two of his brothers, Terry Burkdoll and Alan Burkdoll.
Dave is survived by his wife, Peggy, of 46 years; three sons, Jeff (Stacy) Burkdoll, Lyndon, Aaron (Jennifer) Burkdoll, Port Orchard, Wash., and Dan (Erin) Burkdoll, Lyndon; brother, Steve (Bev) Burkdoll, Melvern; sister, LeeAnn (Robert) Samsel, Lyndon; and,seven granddaughters, one grandsonm and one step-grandson.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, at Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon. Burial will be in Lyndon Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, April 21, at the funeral chapel.
