Maintenance notice – With the arrival of spring rains, some ditches in the area are retaining water. Residents are asked to inspect their ditches and culverts for any debris that might need clearing. Keeping these areas clean will help improve drainage and prevent potential issues.
Pet ordinance enforced – Overbrook has a pet ordinance, Ordinance 408, to help keep the community safe and enjoyable for everyone. It requires pets to be on a leash and for owners to pick up after them. The ordinance also applies to pets in the Overbrook Cemetery. All city ordinances are at www.overbrookks.com.
Police – The Overbrook Police Department reminds drivers that May is Motorcycle Safety Month. In 2023, Kansas reported 926 motorcycle-related crashes, resulting in 41 fatalities and 840 injuries. From May 19 through June 2, the Overbrook Police Department will take part in the Click It or Ticket enforcement campaign. With school dismissing on May 20, there will be more children riding bikes around town. Residents and drivers are asked to stay vigilant and watch for children to ensure everyone’s safety.
