The Kansas Department of Transportation was scheduled to begin a crack sealing project June 17, 2025, on portions of U.S. Highway 75 and state Highway 4 in Shawnee and Osage counties:
Work will be done on U.S. 75 from approximately 49th Street in Shawnee County to just south of the U.S. Highway 56 interchange in Osage County. Sealing will be done on K-4 in Shawnee County, from the Wabaunsee County line to K-4/Auburn Road.
A lane reduction will be in place where crews are actively working. Flaggers and a pilot car will direct traffic through the work zone on K-4. Motorists in the area should plan for delays of up to 15 minutes.
Work will occur during daylight hours Monday through Friday, and Saturdays as needed.
Pavement Pros LLC, of McPherson, Kan., is the prime contractor on the $260,000 project, which is expected to be completed by the end of August.
KDOT urges motorists to stay alert and follow posted signs in all work zones. For current road conditions, see KanDrive.gov or call 511.
