She was born and raised in Atchison, Kans. And graduated from Highland Community College and Emporia State University with a degree in elementary education and a Master’s in Library Science.
She was school librarian at William Allen White, Maynard and Riverside Elementary Schools, in Emporia, for 12 years.
In 2001, she moved to Osage City when she married her husband, Brian.
Brian will be the Title I math teacher this school year at Osage City Schools.
Jeanette and Brian have a daughter, Sydney, who is a junior at Osage City High School.
Jeanette has been a member of The St. Patrick’s Church Council, Osage County Fair Board, and Osage City Kiwanis Club. Jeanette was instrumental in getting the Osage City community sign back in working condition. She established a care cupboard at the library for citizens in need of hygiene products. She started an after school snack program for kids that come into the library after school. During the summer, she partners with Catholic Charities to provide shelf stable meals for the youth in our community. She volunteers her time to help with Christmas on Market and helps with the citywide garage sale map.
Jeanette will marshal the Osage County Fair Parade, which will be held in downtown Osage City, at 6:30 Friday, July 11, 2025. The theme of this year’s parade is “Back in the Day”.
