Dorothy Carolyn Good, 74, Scranton: Feb. 19, 1939 – Oct. 5, 2013

100813-obit-goodDorothy Carolyn Good, 74, of Scranton, Kan., died Oct. 5, 2013, at her home. She was born Feb. 19, 1939, in Centerville, Miss., the daughter of Henry Lee Geter and Dorothy (Johnson) Boise.

She graduated from high school in Mississippi in 1957 and from the Wichita Business School, Wichita, Kan., in 1959.  She has lived in Scranton for the past seven years, living in Burlingame, Kan., for 20 years prior.

Carolyn was a proud lifelong housewife and homemaker. She was a member of Grace Community Church, of Overbrook, Kan.

On Nov. 19, 1959, Carolyn was united in marriage with Floyd Good in Wichita. They shared more than 52 years of marriage.

Carolyn is survived her husband, Floyd, of the home; mother, Dorothy Boise, Topeka, Kan.; three children, Tad Good and his wife, Deb, Topeka, Tara Good, Wichita, and Troy Good and his wife, Melissa, of Baldwin City, Kan.; and eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Carolyn was a very loving wife and mother.  She enjoyed painting life’s sceneries, studying God’s word, and writing.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, at Grace Community Church, Overbrook.  Burial will be 3 p.m., at Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Scott, Kan.

Her family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the church.
