Senior Center Update: Historical society to teach class on writing personal histories

Hello from the Osage County Senior Center and the Osage County Public Transportation – where things are happening!

We have painting groups that meet here on Mondays and Wednesdays – come to enjoy the day with old friends or make new friends.

Hermes Foot Care will be here Aug. 18 and 20. You must call them to make a appointment at 316-260-4110.

We will be having a class on writing your story with the Osage County Historical Society at 2 p.m. Aug. 20.

Our next potluck will be at noon Aug. 6. We are having a taco bar with all the trimmings, with Swing ‘n County Band after Lunch.

Our Breakfast Club will be Aug. 8, going to Perkins, in Topeka, leaving at 8:30 a.m. Lunch Bunch on Aug. 22 will be to Jumpin’ Catfish, in Olathe; leaving at 10 a.m.

Every third Wednesday, 1-3 p.m., we have Conlin Bartow with VA benefits here to assist our Osage County veterans.

We play Quarter Bingo every Tuesday, and Maria from Home Town Health Care is our caller – come and join the fun. We are starting to have Quarter Bingo at 10 a.m. Thursdays.

We have make ‘n’ take crafts; it is every Thursday at 2 p.m.

I call bingo in Melvern at the Community Building every third Friday at 1 p.m. Come and enjoy bingo with us. There is no charge for this, and refreshments will be served.

Anyone interested in playing Mahjong? We at 2:30 Tuesday afternoons. The ceramics class is at 9:30 a.m. Thursdays, with all supplies are furnished; lots of bisque to choose from.  We have a sewing group that now has walker bags for sale; stop in and look around at the wonderful things they make.
