Mason Newman is a member of Willing Workers 4-H Club and has been in 4-H for four years. He currently serves his club as historian, and was parliamentarian in 2024 and recreation leader in 2023.

Projects he entered in this year’s fairs and results: Dairy cow, reserve champion; dairy goat, reserve champion showmanship; meat rabbits, blue; foods, blues; poultry, blues; geology, purple and reserve champion, and state fair purple; horticulture, reserve grand champion; pets, blue; arts, blue; photography, purple, and a state fair purple.

Mason said his favorite projects are poultry and geology.

“My favorite part of being in 4-H is the adventure of learning something new with every project – there’s never a dull moment as a 4-Her,” he said.

Things he’s learned from being in 4-H: “Through 4-H, I’ve learned about the geology of Kansas, how to care for multiple animals, and the importance of working as a team.”
