OVERBROOK, Kan. Judyann Gilkey, 87, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2026, at her home near Overbrook, Kan. She was born Jan. 11, 1939, in Cleveland, Ohio, the only daughter of James and Lillian “Lillie” (Sellers) Mudra.
Judyann lived in Ohio until age 5 and then moved to Whittier, Calif., where she grew up. She had lived near Overbrook for the last 30 years.
Judyann had worked as a paraprofessional for Santa Fe Trail School District for several years. She took great care of her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren for many years. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mom, Grandma and Great Grandma “GG”.
On Sept. 28, 1957, Judyann was united in marriage to Keith Gilkey, in Whittier, Calif.
Judyann was preceded in death by her husband, Keith, on Jan. 1, 2017; a daughter, Connie Gilkey; and her parents, James and Lillian.
Judyann is survived by her three daughters, Sherry (Dan) Romano, Kathy (Gene) Ogle and Brenda Mudge; by her two brothers, James Mudra and Dan Mudra; by her seven grandchildren; by her fourteen great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life for Judyann will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 7, at Grace Community Church, 310 E. Eighth St., Overbrook, KS 66524. Inurnment will be in California at a later date.
