The Osage City office of the East Central Kansas Economic Opportunity Corporation (ECKAN) has opened its Christmas bureau to provide holiday cheer for families in need. ECKAN has begun accepting applications for the Christmas adoption program, in which caring persons can adopt a family or individuals, and provide food and gifts to those who might need it during the holiday season.

Applications for the program will be accepted on Tuesdays and Thursdays until Dec. 5 at ECKAN’s Osage City office, located at 530 Holliday St.

The Christmas Bureau is also seeking people who would like to help a family or individual during the season of giving. Adopters can decide their level of giving, whether their gifts should go to an individual or family, and whether they wish to deliver the gifts to the family or bring them to ECKAN’s office.
