Overbrook Girl Scout Bonnie Young, 11, has been awarded the Junior Bronze Award. It is the highest honor a Junior Girl Scout can earn.

Bonnie earned the award by offering pony rides at Santa Fe Trail Days held Sept. 21 at the Overbrook Fairgrounds. Her pony’s name is Snowflake. She charged $2 per ride and raised $62. She donated her earnings to the Rock Creek Cemetery, located east of Overbrook. The cemetery is in need of a new fence.

Bonnie was a Junior Girl Scout for two years, and has now bridged to Cadettes. She plans on continuing her involvement in Girl Scouts.
