OSAGE CITY, Kan. – Marjorie Randall Maxwell, 93, passed away Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at the Aldersgate Village, in Topeka.
She was born at White City, Kan., on Jan. 3, 1920, the daughter of Wayne P. and Leah Carson Randall.
Marjorie moved to Osage City in October 1926 where she attended Central Grade School and attended and graduated from Osage City High School in 1937. She continued her education at Baker University, where she was a member and president of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. She graduated with the class of 1941.
Marjorie was joined in marriage to George R. Maxwell on April 1, 1943, in Osage City. They shared over 50 years together until his death on Oct. 9, 1995.
Her many memberships included the First United Methodist Church of Osage City, United Methodist Women, Sorosis Club, Women’s Golf Association, Alpha Chi Omega Alumnae Chapter of Topeka, and the Arab Shrine Ladies Club of Topeka.
Mrs. Maxwell will be remembered most by a son, Robert S. Maxwell and wife, Jan, of Topeka; daughter, Joyce Webb and husband, Rick, of Olathe; four grandchildren, George (Yuanting) Maxwell, Allison Maxwell and Tyler (Erin) Webb and Spencer Webb; great-grandson, Maxwell Carson Webb, and a brother, Clark Randall, of Shawnee Mission.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church of Osage City. Burial will follow at the Osage City Cemetery.
Mrs. Maxwell will lie in state from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at the VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N. Sixth St., Osage City.
