NWS issues dense fog advisory

The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a dense fog advisory, which is in effect until 8 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, for Osage, Lyon, Franklin, Coffey, and Anderson counties.

Visibility could be around 1/4 mile and locally as low as a few hundred feet. Driving can be hazardous in these low and possibly rapidly changing visibilities. Motorists should drive with extreme caution and allow additional travel time. Use low beams, reduce driving speed, and allow for plenty of room between cars. Vehicles can overtake other vehicle quickly in poor visibilities; drivers are urged to slow down and drive defensively.
