LYNDON – John Piland, 72, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, at his home in Lyndon. John had lived in Emporia before moving to Lyndon, where he has lived for the last 20 years.

John had served in the U.S. Army and had worked as a carpenter, truck driver and in security.

John was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister. He is survived by his wife, five sons, three daughters, two brothers, a sister, 26 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was cremated and the family will hold private family services at a later date. Feltner Funeral Home in Lyndon is assisting the family.
